Chris studied philosophy and art in college and then architecture and urban design at the University of Colorado, earning a Masters in Architecture. He first worked in Denver on infill projects, historic structures, renovating, altering and adding to existing buildings.
Coming to Miami Beach to work on a large residence, he liked the city’s contemporary sense of style and ended up relocating here.
Miami allows him to broaden his focus from architecture to include interior design, furnishings, built-ins, lighting, material selections and landscaping. Although conversant with a variety of styles, he is most at home in modernism.
Yumi studied at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, Japan before moving to New York City to work as a fashion designer. The fashion industry opened her to art and interiors. She studied sculpture in Berlin, Germany and New York. Then she started a company providing high-end interior finishes in New York, leading to a growing focus on interiors.
After 20 years in New York, she moved to New Orleans and then to Miami Beach. She found that the creative, minimalistic modernism fits her taste, and designing interiors provide an ideal opportunity to use all of her talents with colors and textures.
